Are your skin regimens losing the battle against fine lines and wrinkles? Fight back with Restylane.
What is Restylane?
Restylane is a clear gel filler that is created to replicate the body’s natural hyaluronic acid, which provides fullness and elasticity in the skin. Restylane is used to correct wrinkles around your nasolabial folds (mouth), nose, and marionette lines (from the mouth to your chin). With Restylane, you can get rid of signs of aging with more volume and smoother skin, making your wrinkles and folds disappear. There are several products within the Restylane family that target specific areas of the skin and can provide optimal results! After a consultation with Dr. Salzman, you will have a better idea of which Restylane product can best help you with your needs.
How does Restylane work?
Restylane is a minimally invasive treatment consisting of a few injection points, which vary from person to person. Dr. Salzman will inject the filler underneath the skin and the hyaluronic acid will attach to the skin and retain volume. This procedure is commonly performed with topical anesthetic because it does not contain numbing ingredients. Slight pain during the treatment is common, but the procedure will last no longer than 30-minutes.
Restylane can provide subtle results and is an FDA approved solution for lip enhancement in patients over 21. Results can last up to 18-months and can be visibly seen within one week. Side effects include possible swelling, redness, pain, and bruising, but these are usually mild and subside within seven days. Patients typically can report back to their day to day within a few days. It is important to work with a board certified plastic surgeon as injection points are crucial in avoiding potential complications.
