What is CoolSculpting®?
CoolSculpting® is a body contouring treatment that uses fat-freezing technology to eliminate stubborn fat deposits. The only FDA-cleared treatment of its kind, CoolSculpting® can treat many areas of the body, including the chin, flanks, abdomen, and outer and inner thighs. It is a completely non-invasive treatment, so there are no incisions, needles, anesthesia, or downtime required.
Patients who are near their goal weight but are dealing with stubborn fat deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise can often benefit from this procedure. A consultation with one of our CoolSculpting® certified technicians can help to determine if this procedure is right for you.
How is CoolSculpting® Done?
During a CoolSculpting® treatment, a negative pressure suction is applied over the treatment area until skin and fat and placed between two metal plates. These plates then cool the treatment area for one hour. This process freezes the unwanted fat cells, destroying them permanently. These damaged fat cells are then naturally eliminated from the body over time.
Many patients bring a book, work, or even their computer to their CoolSculpting® treatment session to pass the time.
Following treatment, there is no downtime required, so patients can return to work or exercise immediately. Side-effects are often minimal. Some patient may require only one CoolSculpting® session, while others may require multiple sessions to see their desired results.
