What is Laser Tattoo Removal?

Laser tattoo removal is done with a Q-switched laser to remove unwanted tattoo pigmentation from the skin. We use the Astanza Trinity laser to offer effective, quick treatment. This laser produces short pulses of light energy, quickly heating the unwanted ink in the skin, breaking up its particles. The Astanza Trinity utilizes three laser wavelengths at once, allowing it to treat multiple colors during the same treatment session. It also offers shorter procedure time and ensures minimal skin irritation for superior results.

How Are Laser Tattoo Removal Treatments Done?

During a treatment session, the Astanza Trinity laser will be used to target pigmentation under the skin. This laser only travels deep enough into the skin to affect the ink, leaving deeper skin cells untouched. Many patients describe the laser sensation and feeling like a rubber band snap on the skin. Black tattoos are usually associated with less discomfort than other color pigments.

Patients will require multiple treatment sessions to work through the layers of ink that make up a tattoo. Most patients require 5-10 treatment sessions spaced 4-8 weeks apart. However, factors such as the age of the tattoo, the colors in the tattoo, and how dense the tattoo is will determine the number of treatment sessions needed.

Laser Tattoo Removal Results

Following a laser tattoo removal session, patients will experience some redness, swelling, and minor skin blistering. These side-effects are temporary, and the skin will heal without scars. It is important to follow proper aftercare instructions given to you by the physician to achieve ideal results.
